Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 05:00 pm
December 7, 2025
Deutsches Haus is holding its annual *Christkindlmarkt* or Christmas Market *December 5th-7th, 2025!* A Christkindlmarkt is a street market associated with Christmas during the Advent season. These outdoor markets originated in Germany in the late Middle Ages. Our market will offer food, drink, seasonal items and handmade gifts and crafts offered for sale from open air stalls. Shopping will be accompanied by traditional Christmas music and singing and evening shopping under lights. *Saturday, December 6th Entertainment Lineup* *11-11:45am:* New Aurora Saxophone Ensemble *12:00-12:45pm:* New Aurora Saxophone Ensemble *1:15-2pm:* New Orleans Trombone Choir *2:15-3pm:* New Orleans Trombone Choir *3:15-4pm:* Music by Kurrende Brass* *4:15-5pm:* Music by Kurrende Brass* *5:15-6pm:* Music by Tiffany Pollack and Company *6:15-7pm:* Music by Tiffany Pollack and Company ***"Kurrende Brass" is a German tradition of gathering of (random) brass players, no matter their skill or age, to perform holiday songs. They see it as a way to share the joy of making holiday music together-- even if with strangers who can become friends. It is similar to the caroling gathering in Jackson Square, but with brass instruments! Free admission for shoppers! Algiers Bonfire & Concert
Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:30 pm
December 7, 2025
Each year, along the banks of the Mississippi River, a time-honored tradition is observed in Algiers– with a dash of New Orleans flavor! As the only holiday bonfire in New Orleans, this event is both an opportunity to take part in a unique Louisiana cultural tradition and a fun, family-friendly annual community gathering. Join us in paying tribute to Louisiana’s river parish bonfire tradition, while listening to musical performances, eating food from local vendors, and shopping from local artisans at the holiday market. However, the highlight of the event is the 30-foot sculptural bonfire, designed by NOLA Burners, which is set ablaze after darkness falls on the banks of the river. Easily accessible via the Algiers ferry, and with the New Orleans’ skyline as the perfect backdrop, this event cannot be missed! Free & Open to the Public
