*Doors 6pm | Performance 6:30pm* /Booker and Beyond: The Professor Tim Piano Series – Celebrating New Orleans Piano Traditions /was conceptualized and made possible through a generous bequest by Timothy “Professor Tim” Allspach: educator, musician, and lifelong supporter of New Orleans culture. A friend of piano genius James Carroll Booker, Tim was a beloved teacher at Isidore Newman School for over three decades and a fixture at the Maple Leaf Bar, where his love of music and community flourished. He dedicated part of his estate to celebrate and perpetuate the extraordinary piano traditions of New Orleans. Through this series, we honor his vision by showcasing the brilliance of pianists across genres, ensuring that the spirit of Booker and the city’s rich piano legacy continue to inspire generations to come. Join us on the third Tuesday of each month at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music for a phenomenal /Booker and Beyond /show.
