*SWEET RE-LEAF: A Benefit for Douggie* /For Douggie Trager, the Heart & Soul of the Maple Leaf Bar / If you've ever had a life-changing night at the Maple Leaf, there's a real good chance Douggie made it happen. Douggie has been the heartbeat behind the Leaf for decades — booking the legends, nurturing the music, and keeping Oak Street the most magical block in New Orleans. The man lives and breathes this stuff, and the city is better for it. Now it's time to do right by him. Douggie is facing a serious health challenge, and the bills that come with it — treatments, medications, and regular trips to MD Anderson in Houston — have hit him and his family hard. So we're doing what New Orleans does best: we're throwing a party. Sweet Re-Leaf gets rolling at "Maple Leaf Time", Noon-Thirty'ish with Tom Worrell holding it down on the Piano Truck out front, and we're not stopping until the Leaf kicks us out.
