The Honorable South blends rock, soul, funk, and elements of hip-hop and have a sound that is tribal, meditative, and dirty south. With influences like Modest Mouse, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nina Simone, and Outkast; THS is a testament to what can happen when originality, vision, and fearlessness mingle. In October 2009, they released a bold demo EP entitled "Dirty in the Light" distinguishing the group as a relevant voice in today’s society and New Orleans own Afro Rock pioneers.

MS. speaks, “this album is truly about being brave- brave enough to acknowledge one another as masters of our respective craft, and do more than exist in this world. Living like we need one another and love.” The Honorable South are founding members MS. (vocalist/songwriter “Charm Taylor”) and Matthew Rosenbeck (lead guitarist). Along with, Jamal Batiste (drummer), Danny Kartel (rhythm guitar/producer) and Jarrad Savoir (bassist). THS is re-envisioning Rock n Roll for the masses. Listeners are whisked away to the world of folks who keep all hours in "the dirtiest city that you ever did love". An Honorable South live show translates to foot stomping, hand clapping Rock n Roll, the occasional bounce anthem or brass backing, and a conjuring of raw energy onstage each and every time.

International/Local Press:
“absolute genius sounding band lead by an enigmatic female lead singer. They are really adventurous with their approach to writing and performing.”
