Self taught artist Susie Allen’s true passion is capturing the essence and spirit of an individual. The catalyst for her artistic expression was an early career spent acting in the theatre which translated to her artwork; the result is “larger than life” images with heightened expression of color and composition. The Divine beauty and grace of human and animal forms compelled her to specialize in portraits. Susie’s formal education is in design and performing arts and includes a master’s artist workshop in Florence, Italy at the Angel Academy of Art focusing on reproductions of Caravaggio. Her work is influenced by Italian Renaissance artists and British Victorian painters as well as American illustrators Norman Rockwell and Walt Disney.
Solo exhibitions include: The Vail Valley Library, The National Mining Hall of Fame, Colorado Mountain College and Park City, Utah’s Mining Association Convention.
Group exhibitions include: Aspen, Ouray, Castel Rock, Vail, Breckenridge, Salida, Denver International Airport and the Colorado State Capitol.
