Smoke N Bones was originally formed in 2012 as an organ trio to play a weekly residence at the historic Dragon's Den in New Orleans, LA. In the short time since, the band has grown to a 5 piece and has performed all over New Orleans and across the United States. Boasting some of the best talent in the Big Easy and an undeniably "classic" soul sound, Smoke N Bones stands out as a fresh voice in a music scene rich with history and tradition. The band places an emphasis on original material and arrangements and creates a diverse sound strongly rooted in Soul and Funk, often venturing into the realms of Jazz, Afro Beat, and Reggae. The early success and quick rise of the group are no surprise. Guitarist and founder Billy Franklin is a New Orleans native, and a veteran of the New Orleans music scene. Recipient of 8 Best of New Orleans awards under his own name and with various projects, Franklin aims to have Smoke N Bones provide the audience with an authentic cultural experience. All of the musicians in the band are prominent players in New Orleans and have played with everyone from Trombone Shorty and Kermit Ruffinns to Bill Summers and Karl Denson.
