He's boogied with James Brown, packed the House of Blues, played at the White House, and traveled to more cities than a Greyhound. Critics hail him as one of zydeco's most cherished symbols and a party seems to break out whenever and wherever he and his band show up. - American Press

Rockin' Dopsie Jr. (aka David Rubin) is the son of Alton Rubin Sr. He played in his father's band starting in the early 1980s and became the leader of the group after his father's death in 1993. The family's roots are in Carencro, but Rockin' Dopsie Jr. is based in New Orleans. He and the Zydeco Twisters tour the United States and Europe. On stage, Dopsie literally twist in every direction, ending in spectacular splits that energize the audience. The music also moves in many directions beyond zydeco: soul, R&B, blues.
