The mission of the Alliance Franaise is to increase understanding of the French language, literature, history and culture among people in the United States and to encourage cultural exchange, and mutual understanding and friendship.

The Alliance Franaise de La Nouvelle-Orlans offers a variety of cultural, culinary and social events including lectures, concerts, exhibits, parties, discussion groups, as well as quality courses in French. Through five sessions per year, the Alliance Franaise offers day, evening, and Saturday classes taught by professionally-trained native teachers. In addition, we offer specialized classes in conversation, cooking, literature, film, and more. While most of our classes are designed for adults, we also offer Children's French Immersion classes and a children's Summer Camp. Private Tutoring is available throughout the year for all ages. AF Members are welcome to check out books from our library, watch French TV in our salon, use our student computers, as well as borrow videos from our French film library.

The Alliance Franaise is a world-wide non-profit, cultural and educational organization founded in Paris in 1883. Part of a network of over 1,100 chapters in 138 countries, the United States Federation of Alliances Franaises teaches 400,000 students per year.
