Sankofa CDC works to build bridges for healthier communities, spur development by addressing health disparities, and support youth empowerment through education and intergenerational learning.
In addition, Sankofa CDC has the following purposes:
Inspire youth to explore their roles as peer leaders, learn from elders in their community, study the foundations of nutrition and agriculture, and understand the importance of civic engagement.
Collaborate with community-based organizations to build healthier communities and improve access to fresh wholesome foods.
Address the social causes of food and health inequalities and work to decrease chronic diseases through education and advocacy work.
Transform vacant land into spaces that aesthetically enhance the community with locally grown produce, native plants with the development of sustainable ecosystems.
