Soul Project NOLA - Cafe Negril
With their soulful grooves and impeccable musicianship, Soul Project NOLA brings the spirit of New Orleans everywhere they go. Mixing elements of jazz, soul, blues, funk and gospel, the band reliably draws crowds to their high energy shows.
Recently nominated for for Offbeat Magazine’s Best of the Beat Awards for Best R&B/Funk Album, Soul Projects NOLA’s 2013 release “Music For Movers & Shakers” places the band in the upper stratosphere of the New Orleans music scene alongside fellow nominees Trombone Shorty and Dumpstaphunk.
Inspired by the music of Walter “Wolfman” Washington & The Roadmasters, the Meters, the Neville Brothers and Galactic, Jon Cristian Duque (guitar/lead vocals), Will Repholz (bass), Colin Davis (drums), Jeremy Habegger (organ/keys), Phil Morin (Sax) and David Ludman (sax) have spent more than a decade establishing themselves in New Orlean’s competitive music scene with regular gigs on world-renowned Frenchmen St, big stage festival appearances (French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jazz In the Park at Armstrong Park…), and regular tours of the southern, eastern and central United States.
In addition to their constant gigging in and around New Orleans, the band is currently recording a follow up album due out Spring of 2015.
