The NOLA Art of Giving project was created by the local artists that display their work every week at Secondline Art Market on Decatur Street in the French Quarter. It is a way for them to support the community that inspires their art. Thursday June 6 will kick off the first event in the fundraising series with a Pride party benefitting the LGBT Community Center of New Orleans. The party will include talented local artists displaying and creating live art and music, local food vendors, art auctions and raffles, face painting, a fashion show and more. Along with accepting donations from the public, a portion of the art sales will also be donated to the evening’s cause. Representatives from the Community Center will be on hand to discuss their work within the community and offer opportunities for the community to further involve themselves in that work. Admission to this event is free to the public.
