The world's longest running all Funk and Soul Vinyl Dance Party comes to New Orleans! Spearheaded by DJ Miles Tackett of Breakestra, Funky Sole founded in 2000, focuses on the raw sounds of Funk and Soul from its beginnings in the mid 60's up until the advent of disco. (Note: We do NOT play disco). Dance to the funky songs you already know and also discover unheralded and obscure talents from New Orleans and all over the globe.
Funky Sole NOLA strives to put the spotlight on and educate our dancing crowd on the roots of funk, and especially the integral part New Orleans played in its formation and later augmentation. On the projector screen will be visuals with historical tidbits along with rare funk footage. On the turntables endless amount of Funky Floor Fillers.
