One of the most celebrated music festivals of all time, Woodstock was first held in August of 1969, attracting an audience of more than 400,000. Billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: Three Days of Peace & Music," Woodstock was held on a 600-acre dairy farm southwest of Woodstock, New York. It is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history, as well as the definitive nexus for the larger counterculture generation. Rolling Stone listed it as number 19 of the 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.
