The Place d'Armes Hotel is open to
guests while the rebuilding of New Orleans goes on around us.
Refurbished and refreshed after the storm, the hotel
is now providing full services to visitors from around the world.
The French Quarter is back to its old charming ways and remains
as exciting and fun as it has been for nearly 300 years.
••••••••••••••••••••••
There's a story
behind every one of the 85 charming guest rooms in the Place d'Armes
Hotel, renovated in 2003. Located on St. Ann Street facing Jackson
Square in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, this
small, historic hotel includes nine lovingly restored 18th and
19th Century buildings strung like architectural jewels around
what some call the most beautiful courtyards in the Quarter. Magnolia,
crepe myrtle, bromeliads and lush tropical foliage thrive around
the fountains and clear cool pool at the center of the complex.
Every day guests enjoy complimentary continental
breakfast and steaming hot New Orleans coffee served up in the
serene and secluded courtyard or the jazzy courtyard dining room
by the Place d'Armes' warmest hostess, Ms. D.
From the front carriageway of the hotel the
spire of St. Louis Cathedral rises just above the mansard roof
of the old Presbytere. Look to the left to see the cast iron balconies
of the Pontalba Buildings and the Mississippi River beyond. Look
to the right and see Royal Street's cascade of quirky and elegant
shops. One block further and bawdy Bourbon beckons with her thumping
beat and promise of great good times.
A stay in the Place d'Armes with its AAA amenities,
romantic and serene atmosphere and location in the heart of the
most interesting city in North America is something every adventurer
and traveler should experience.
