Prospect New Orleans joins forces with New Orleans Airlift to present their first-ever “Artist Party” on the opening weekend of the biennial, at the Music Box Village.
Mingle with P4 artists in the celebrated Music Box Village - a collection of artist- and inventor-built “musical houses” by art collective New Orleans Airlift. Biennial artist Darryl Montana, Mardi Gras Indian Chief of the Yellow Pocahontas, is the latest artist to create a musical house for the Village, to be debuted at this event.
Airlift’s Delaney Martin and Alita Edgar are also joining forces with seminal Louisiana-born visual artist Elizabeth Shannon to create a special installation that will set the stage for a magical night that celebrates multi-generational women’s voices.
Performances by the all-female Pinnettes Brass Band, New Orleans 1960’s girl group legends The Dixie Cups of “Chapel of Love” fame, trail-blazing trans rapper Keltnny Galliano AkaKatey Red who pioneered New Orleans Sissy Bounce Scene, and up-and-coming rapper Delish Da Goddess will keep bodies moving at this woman-powered event.
