Krewe of Mid-City
Krewe of Mid-City
Welcome to the Krewe of Mid-City, the 5th oldest continuously parading organization of the New Orleans Mardi Gras season. We would like to invite you to visit with what has been called by the critics and observers, "The best day parade in Mardi Gras.

The Krewe of Mid City was created in the early 1930's from a group of men from the Mid City civic association. The organization first paraded in 1934. It was founded by Charles A. Bourgeois. Traditionally a member and their wife would serve as King and Queen. Mr. Bourgeois and his wife Gertrude served as the first King and Queen of Mid City. The first parade included six small floats drawn by mules, a couple of bands and horse back riders. Mr. Bourgeois designed the interlocking heart emblem we use today as the Krewe of Mid City logo.
