Dear Subscriber,

When you visit New Orleans this month, you'd better love Purple, Green and Gold, the shinier and brighter, the better. The official Mardi Gras colors, (which by the way actually don't really go together all so well) are on flags, tee-shirts, banners, bunting, streamers, King Cakes, petit fours, crowns, masks, costumes, posters, panties, beads and balconies. And the real start of the 2006 parade season begins with the satirical Krewe du Vieux, a not-to-be-missed walking parade that meanders through the French Quarter February 11. "Ohhh Nooooo" the King this year is Mr. Bill's creator Walter Williams. The French Quarter is ready for you and way ready for the Mardi Gras 2006 fun to begin. See you soon.

Sincerely,

Carolyn McLellan, Publisher
